WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS SILLINESS???!?!?!

...er...that would be me, the doofus on the right...

Steve Ogburn

Like my many kindred spirits, I've been drawing cartoons since I was a youngster.  I was the college newspaper cartoonist and have made various comic strip portfolios to submit to the comic strip syndicates.  Like a lot of folks, I too, could wallpaper my house with the rejection slips.  Thanks to the internet, though, I can self-publish and inflict my goofy brand of humor and bad drawings upon anyone interested in looking at them.  Sort of like looking at a car accident...you can't help but stare...

But I digress!  I want to thank my family, friends, fans and my fellow creative artists on the web for their supportive encouragement.  I may not always be consistent in getting the strips up, as I do them in color and they are time-consuming, but I will try my best.  Thanks for accompanying me in the quest to find out what's next for Wallop and his friends!

Still here?  Ok, I'll give you a little more of my background - Born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  Graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1981.  In 1985, I graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Hiram College. Hiram College, a small liberal arts college, is located in Hiram, Ohio.  I worked as a technical writer for Department of Defense contracting companies in the D.C. area.  Got fed up with it and joined the U.S. Navy in 1990.  I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI for 8 months until our command (Commander THIRD Fleet) relocated to North Island, San Diego.  Upon completing my tour of duty, I moved in 1994 to New York City where I worked happily for a couple of years as a Manuscript Editor for a Legal Publishing company.  The lure of an art school brought me back out to the west coast and I've now been in San Francisco for the last 7 years.

I am now happily married (as of July 12, 2003) to Shirley Marie Ogburn.  We just got back from our honeymoon and are looking forward to our new life together and all the adventures that will come with it!

Cheers, Steve
